2) Our commitment
We collect, use, disclose, and store personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand), the information privacy principles, and relevant provisions of the Electoral Act 1993. We are committed to transparency in handling data for political purposes to support fair elections.
3) What “personal information” means
Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (for example, your name and contact details). It does not include aggregated or statistical information that does not identify you. Sensitive personal information, such as political opinions, is handled with additional care under the Privacy Act.
4) What personal information we collect (Wix Forms)
We collect only what is relevant to election campaigning, volunteering, newsletters, voter outreach, and responding to enquiries/submissions/comments.
When you submit a form on our website (Wix Forms), we collect:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Phone number (optional)
We may also collect:
- Address or voting district (for canvassing or event coordination)
- Political preferences or voting intentions (if voluntarily provided)
- The content of your message/submission/comment and any follow-up correspondence
- Basic technical information collected automatically for website operation and security (e.g., IP address, device/browser information)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age. If you are under 16, please do not provide any information to us.
5) How we collect personal information
We collect personal information when you:
- Submit a Wix Form on our website (volunteer sign-up, newsletter sign-up, contact/enquiry, voter registration interest)
- Contact us directly by email or other channels we provide
- Interact with campaign events or surveys linked to the site

If you contact us or volunteer, we may keep a record of our communications and brief internal notes needed to follow up with you and manage volunteer/newsletter/campaign requests.

Our site is hosted on the Wix.com platform and information submitted through Wix Forms is stored within Wix tools associated with our website.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We regularly review security measures to align with best practices for political data handling.
10) Sharing your information
We do not sell personal information.
We may share personal information only as needed to operate our website, communications, and campaign activities, for example with:
- Wix (hosting, Wix Forms, and site functionality)
- Service providers we use to send communications or manage campaigns (e.g., email platforms or voter management tools)
- Affiliated political parties, candidates, or election partners (with your consent where required)
We may also disclose personal information if required or permitted by law, including under the Electoral Act.
11) Overseas storage and disclosure
Some service providers (including Wix) may store or process information outside New Zealand, such as in the United States or Europe.
Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take steps required under New Zealand’s cross-border disclosure rules to ensure it is appropriately protected, including using providers with adequate privacy safeguards.
12) Cookies and similar technologies
Our website (and Wix services) may use cookies and similar technologies to help the site function, support security, improve performance, and analyse user behaviour for campaign optimization (e.g., via integrated tools like Google Analytics).
You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect site functionality. We do not use tracking for cross-site advertising without consent.

To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer (section 1). We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable and within the timeframes required by the Privacy Act (generally within 20 working days).
16) Unsubscribing and withdrawing consent
You can unsubscribe from newsletters, campaign updates, or other communications at any time using an unsubscribe option (if provided) or by contacting our Privacy Officer. We will process withdrawal requests promptly.
Even if you opt out, we may still send important non-marketing messages where necessary (for example, to respond to a direct enquiry, confirm a request you made, or manage volunteer coordination).
17) Retention and disposal
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy (or as required by law), such as until the end of the election cycle for campaign data. When no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymise it. For example, voter outreach data may be retained for up to 6 months post-election for auditing purposes before disposal.
18) Privacy breaches
If a privacy breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, and the Electoral Commission (if involving election-related data) as soon as practicable.
19) Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact our Privacy Officer (section 1) and we will work to resolve it.
If you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (NZ) or, for election-related issues, the Electoral Commission.
20) Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically, especially during election periods.
